Eileen Sheridan-Malone

Eileen Sheridan-Malone is the nurse manager for the John’s Hopkins Women’s H.I.V. Program, and has also recently launched a career with Coldwell Banker Real Estate as a residential Realtor.  “I’m passionate about real estate. I enjoy it. And the fact that I’m a nurse gives me insight into understanding what people want, and so far that’s proven to be so true.”  Sheridan-Malon has two daughters.  Her oldest, Maggie, is a freshman majoring in Political Science, with her eye on pursuing a law degree.  Her youngest, Devon, is a tenth grader at Towson High school, with a keen interest in field hockey. When STYLE asked her what her fashion passion was, she revealed “I used to design hats, so I have quite a hat collection.”  In fact, ten years ago STYLE magazine ran a feature about Arch Angel, the hat company Sheridan-Malone and her friend Marsha Potler (a social worker at Johns Hopkins) co-owned.  There hats were in stores all over Baltimore, DC and Virginia.

What’s in Your Handbag?
1. an organizer
2. a checkbook
3. a makeup bag with Estee Lauder lipstick (color: Organza 863) and face powder
4. a Brighton wallet (“it’s Victorian looking.”)
5. business cards
6. a diet coke
7. an extra chewed up mouth guard for my daughter’s field hockey
8. part of a candy cane (“which I’d be happy to share with you!”)

Worst Handbag Disaster
“A whole bottle of lotion spilled out and opened up, ruining my organizer.”

What’s in your closet?
“My wardrobe isn’t quite up to snuff, really.  But I do like to wear long skirts. And I like turtlenecks and pants.  I have a couple of really nice suits.  What’s interesting is that I haven’t really changed my style, which probably isn’t a good thing, but I love black. I wear a lot of black. I still wear a lot of things that I wore in the 80’s.  My hair and the amount of makeup has changed a little bit since the 80’s, but black is black. I was sort of Goth before Goth was cool. I’m a little eccentric in my attire, but I like that.”

Favorite Comfort Outfit
Palazzo pants and an over-sized, long-sleeved black T-shirt.

Biggest Shopping Indulgence
“I actually did buy myself a fur coat in 1983, and then regretted it.  I think I’ve worn it twice.  I’m mortified that I even purchased it. It’s a beautiful long haired silver fox. But it makes me sad to think how it was made. Do you want it?”

Favorite Place to Shop
“Every Martin Luther King weekend, my girlfriends and I go to St. Jacobs, near
Kitchener in Ontario, Canada. They have wonderful little boutiques and at that time of year it’s like shopping in a winter wonderland.”
