McCain and Obama are so far apart on positions, how could race be a pivot point for anyone’s vote? Someone could be accused of making a race based decision only if he would have voted for Obama had he been white - but it is hard to conceive that person with those poltical views would then vote for McCain. Actually I think there will be many people who’ll vote *for* Obama just because he’s black. A nicer form of racism, but racism nevertheless. Have you really encountered people who’d flip between Obama and McCain like that? Kind of makes an argument against universal sufferage grin
