Back in the summer of 2005, I was ushered into a swank hotel suite in Washington, D.C. to meet with Rev. John Hagee – founder of the now huge Christians United For Israel (CUFI) operation – on the first day of his organization’s first national conference. I was wearing a kippah (a habit at all Christian events so that people know that I’m a proud Jew who is willing to engage them).
